Despite the official case numbers of Covid-19 in Jena and Thuringia being very low (as of 23.06.2020), the coming winter semester will nevertheless take place online. Essential information concerning this matter is provided below.

We are planning a digitally conducted online semester starting on November 2nd, 2020. Courses will mainly be taught via video conference as well as (intensively supervised) self-study. Most lectures will be recorded and shared online in order to allow students in different time zones to manage their own workload.

Core parts of the preparatory workshop scheduled for early October will be held live. This means that participants simultaneously join a virtual meeting room such as on Zoom or WebEx and exchange in a group video call. We will attempt to find a time zone mostly acceptable to all of our international students.

Students are of course invited to make their way to Jena as far as travel restrictions allow this.

A study guide providing you with detailed information about the structures and processes at the University of Jena and the Department of Political Science will be made available to all admitted students shortly.

Further and more detailed information on the implementation of the digital agenda for the winter semester will be posted here as it becomes available.
